Accessories that are compatible with the Dyson V8

This stick vacuum comes with most of the accessories you need. However, in the case you lose them, you can easily replace them. The following toolkit will come in handy, especially when you want to use your machine as a handheld device.

Dyson V8 Handheld Toolkit

This kit contains four tools that make it easier to clean the various parts of your house. These tools are an extension hose, a mattress tool, a stubborn dirt brush and a dust brush. The extension hose allows you to clean areas that are hard to reach while the mattress tool lets you effectively remove dirt from your bed.

On the other hand, the soft dusting brush helps in cleaning flat surfaces. However, when dealing with dried mud or any other form of hard to remove dirt, the stubborn dirt brush is what you need.

The good

Being cordless, the Dyson V8 can move more easily. This quality also saves you time because you don’t have to stop and unplug each time you’re done with a room. This Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner is also easy to deploy whenever you need to. This quality is very convenient.

Instead of using bag collection, the Dyson V8 use 2 tier radial cyclones. These cyclones are arranged across the tiers. This system effectively increases airflow and allows you to capture fine dust.

Another redeeming quality of this machine is that it comes with a maximum power mode. This mode offers you up to 7 minutes of high power deep suction cleaning. This comes in handy for more difficult tasks.

When on normal mode, this Dyson cordless vacuum lasts up to 40 minutes on battery power. This is a big improvement from the Dyson V6 which is substantially less powerful. This improvement is attributed to the vacuum’s powerful digital motor and lithium-ion battery.

Additionally, you will find the HEPA filtration system near the handle of the vacuum. It captures allergens and releases clean air. This compartment is washable. However, opening it may release the allergens to the atmosphere proving harmful if you have allergies.

Another nifty feature of the Dyson V8 is its hygienic dirt ejector which allows you to remove dirt from the bin in one step. Weighing in at about 2.6 kilograms, this vacuum is also very lightweight and can be conveniently converted into a handheld device. It is also possible to perform alterations on this stick vacuum in order to make it suitable for cleaning high surfaces.

As if that isn’t enough, the Dyson V8 can be used to clean both bare hard floors and carpets. Its soft roller cleaner head was specifically invented for cleaning hard floors. On the other hand, the direct drive cleaner head was invented for use on carpets.

This head has significantly more brush bar power than the V6 and easily removes ground in dirt. Another major selling point of the Dyson V8 is that it operates quietly allowing you to hold conversations while cleaning comfortably.

The bad

This Dyson cordless vacuum unfortunately also has some weak points. The first thing you will notice is that this vacuum is far more expensive than most of its competitors. Also, the maximum time of 7 minutes when using maximum mode is just too short.

Another major weak point of the Dyson V8 is that it takes about 5 hours to charge while the V6 takes around 3 hours to charge. Coupled with the fact that it only runs for a maximum of 40 minutes on battery power, this stick vacuum isn’t suitable for thorough cleaning a large house. However, we just love the fact that it is so handy for those “in between cleans” through the week.

Also, this vacuum is a little heavier than its predecessor. Finally, as much as the Dyson V8 comes with a really nice dock to mount and store your vacuum, you will still have to find a way to store some of the attachments.

Verdict

The Dyson V8 is one of the most convenient and easy to use stick vacuums of our time. Although it’s almost identical to its predecessor, it comes with some undeniable upgrades. However, it is very expensive. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide if the upgrades are worth the extra cash.

Let’s face it; the Dyson V8 does have some minor quirks. However, this can’t overshadow the many good qualities associated with it. It is undeniably one of the best stick vacuums in the market today.

If you don’t mind spending some extra cash, this is definitely the right investment for you. Ultimately, this Dyson cordless vacuum will be known for combining cutting-edge technology with flexibility and ease of use.
