In this review, we take a look at the Gtech Leaf Blower, a 36v powerhouse, that’s quiet, efficient and lightweight! A leaf blower is the perfect tool to help you keep your garden clean and tidy as it will neatly blow your leaves into a pile to be collected. The Gtech Leaf Blower is definitely up to that task!
Gtech produces several battery-powered products for around the home and garden. We have reviewed their Gtech Falcon lawnmower, Gtech HT20 hedge trimmer, the latest Gtech Pro vacuum cleaners and some of their earlier vacuum cleaners before here at Tools Review. In this review, we are going to take a look at the Gtech leaf blower, another fantastic addition to their garden range.
Gtech value you being able to perform tasks with ease around the home and garden, but they also value the importance of you looking after your body. So many power tools are heavy, cumbersome and leave you stretching and damaging yourself to use them! Again with this Gtech leaf blower, we see something that has been well thought out, weighing in a 4.3Kg the device naturally points down to the floor and reduces strain and fatigue on the body.
Key Features
Battery Length
The Gtech Leaf Blower comes with a 36v battery. This is the same one used in the Gtech Falcon lawnmower and so if you have one already you are off to a great start. They can be interchanged and one charged whilst the other is in use. That being said if you are just starting out on your Gtech gardening journey, the battery itself is included, they are rather pricey at around £150 if you need a spare, but all of their products come with a battery and charger.
You are looking at a run time of around 20 minutes from this battery. Whilst that might not sound a lot, it is ample time to tidy the leaves and rubbish in an average sized garden and being 36v really does kick out a lot of power.
Variable Speed Control
The Gtech leaf blower uses a variable speed trigger to make the thing run. This may sound like a bit of a gimmick as surely you need as much power as possible when leaf blowing to speed up the process? Sometimes you need sheer power, especially when you are working with wet leaves and stubborn bits of rubbish. However, there are also times when a little less power is beneficial, such as around delicate plants, or if you are near the pile of leaves. You don’t want to start blowing a full pile of leaves that you have just collected up everywhere!
Noise Polution
Leaf blowers by their general nature can be quite noisy devices, especially if we are talking about some of the petrol powered options from brands such as stihl. This is fine if you are clearing rubbish and leaves from the road side or a retail park. However, if you want to get up on a Sunday morning and do some tidying of your garden, noise isn’t ideal.
The Gtech leaf blower is quiet, it allows you to get the job done without annoying the neighbours, to add to that the variable speed trigger allows you to have even more control over the noise coming from the leaf blower.
Compatible Accessories
The Gtech leaf blower comes with everything you need to get going straight away, there is also the purchase of a seperate battery, so that you can have a spare one charged up.
A 36V additional battery
Why would you want a spare additional battery? Whilst 20 minutes is ample for the average family garden, for some it isn’t enough. Gtech have for sale an additional battery for such occasions. Priced at £150 it isn’t cheap, but if it is something that helps you get the job done in one go it is well worth it. There is an argument that if you have a garden that would require more than one charge maybe you should look at one of the petrol counterparts.
Whilst some might see the additional battery as an extravagant expense, to others it is a necessity.

Luckily was able to buy this a few months ago direct from Gtech for only £149 . Great bargain . Would not have purchased if it was full price of over £450 . Reasonable battery life though not that powerful . Ideal for a small garden. Could have done with some kind of harness as it does get a bit heavy after 20 odd minutes . Also found the switch a little bit awkward as kept turning in on when carrying From job to job .
Think there are better blowers on the market but it’s really personnel taste .
I think this blower is great if you already have more Gtech products. As a stand alone leaf blower I agree there are better products but some are significantly more pricey.
